Sheet metal assembly jig and regulator
Overview
The assembly of back pressure regulators is awkward and requires delicate maneuvering to accomplish without error. A jig was desired to expedite the assembly process and reduce hand fatigue.
Problem
Design a jig to mount the regulator during its many assembly steps. The jig should be mountable to any table top with C clamps.
Design Constraints
Sheet metal and Mcmaster hardware.
Challenges
Learning Solidworks sheet metal, understanding the assembly process.
Results
Lower pressure regulator assembly times. Less fatigue as a result of repeated regulator assembly.
