Flow Cell

Cast resin wells to be sealed against glass walls.
PDMS resin epoxied to glass wall. See inlet, outlet, and electrodes.
Overview
Transparent flow cells are useful for measuring the change of a transparent film via spectroscopy. These cells are capable of appling a voltage across said film and have their electrolyte supply continously replenished.
Problem
Develop a flow cell for experiments in an ultraviolet spectrometer.
Design Constraints
PDMS and ECOFLEX resins, standard soldering equipment, 3D printer.
Challenges
Designing a mold that was easy to extract the resin well from. Sealing the flow cell against leaks under pressure.
Results
The flow cell was able to detect changes in the Indium Tin Oxide coated glass.
