Overview
One of Alloy's production machines weighs upwards of 30,000lbs. and requires a load spreading element to mitigate stress on the concrete floor.
Problem
Design an easily manufacturable pedestal that ensures the concrete floors beneath it do not yield to the weight of the machine.
Design Constraints
Mcmaster hardware and steel plates cut with Sendcutsend.
Challenges
Modeling the internal stresses of the plate assembly. Designing in accordance with the Concrete Design Guide.
Results
The resulting design was installed and atop it rests one of the main machines on Alloy's production floor.
